As the Christian Church Let's Agree to Agree

Over the years the Christian Church has virtually been defined by its vast ability to disagree. In fact the quote " We agree to disagree" can almost be the new banner of Christianity. Some people readily point out and wonder if there really is a Christian truth because the Church itself agrees on very few Christian tenants. But this is not really true the Church does agree on many things and is united on many beliefs.

This new topic folder is a discussion where we as Christians can "Agree to Agree" on these various areas of Christianity. This is going to develop into a list of about Ten Plus topics and areas where most Christians can "Agree to Agree" and then the next time someone says to you "the Church doesnt even agree" well here are some replies.

These Replies are Starting beyond the Already Given Basics that Jesus is God born of the Virgin Mary a Godly encounter with humans of the Triune God consisting of the Father, the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is Divine and without sin. He was rejected by mankind crucified and died. His death is the Full Payment for all of the sins of the world and that His resurrection is of Everlasting Life and provided to those who receive Him as God. That Jesus is the rightful and righteous Ruler of the world and He will physically return to righteously reign, rule and judge His creation that we call the universe.

God Bless you,

David

Yes I agree, but would add that although Jesus paid the price for our sins, we are not washed clean of these sins and the Holy Spirit does not make us His temple, until we are born again. This born again experience is the time of our salvation and when our hearts are circumcised. We become new creatures in Christ. The Spirit cannot make us His temple, until we are born again...We must be born again.
Course, I know you are going to say all of this somewhere on the posts, and I do agree with all you have said. Just wanted to add a little here.

Hi 123four,

Well said!

I completely agree and I dont think that it can be said enough that unless you are "Born Again Born from Above" you are not a child of God.

It is that simple only Christians are "Born Again" non-Christians are not.

1John 5:11-12 And this is the Record, that God hath given us (Christians) Eternal Life, and this life is in His Son (Jesus). He that hath the Son hath life: and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

And Like you mentioned the Cross of Jesus Paid for our sins but the Resurrection of Jesus that made the Spirit available for us and it is the Spirit that gives us life.

I was at an Awesome mens conference yesterday and one of the Pastors quoted a definition of what the "Gospel" means, as it was presented in a national survey, and his quoted definition was that "it is the Cross of Jesus and that paid for our sins." I was Surprised and dismayed that he stopped there and didnt mention the "Resurrection" of Jesus and the giving of His Spirit. Because "Gospel" means "Good News" and the Good News is Resurrection Life, our Life in Jesus the cross is of the "Good News" but the Resurrection is the Better Half after all it is better to Live than to Die.

God Bless you,

David
